Zazu is a feisty red-billed hornbill who first appeared as a major character in Disney's 1994 film The Lion King, a supporting character in it's 1998 sequel The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, and a minor character in it's 2004 midquel The Lion King 1½. He also served as a recurring character in The Lion King's Timon and Pumbaa and The Lion Guard. He has served as the majordomo to Mufasa, Scar (though he was imprisoned during his reign) and currently Simba. Zazu has had several voice actors portray him. Rowan Atkinson (who played Edmund Blackadder, Mr. Bean, and Johnny English) voiced him in The Lion King. Edward Hibbert voiced him in The Lion King 2 and The Lion King 1½. Michael Gough voiced Zazu in Timon & Pumbaa. Jeff Bennett provided Zazu's singing voice during the Morning Report sequence on The Lion King DVD Platinum Edition, and currently voices Zazu in The Lion Guard (sequel to the first film and midquel to the second).
His Good Ranking[]
His Heroic Deeds[]
- He's a competent majordomo.
- Warns Mufassa Hyenas are at Pride rock.
- He partakes in raising Simba.
Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- While he aids in saving the pride lands enough to pass the general baseline, he still fails the high admirable standards of the series.
- He can be a jerk at times.
- He's xenophobic:
- Towards the Hyenas refering them as "slobbering, mangy and stupid poachers" his insults towards them in front of Simba even nearly led them and Nala getting into trouble with them.
- By extension he was also this towards the Outsiders calling them a bunch of backstabbers and murderous, even worse he did this in front of Kiara who later got into conflict with both Kovu and Zira over a misunderstanding due to her unawarness.
