Yuri is a minor character in We Bare Bears. He is an old Russian man living alone in the arctic as a hermitic survivalist who raised Baby Ice Bear in the episode "Yuri and the Bear".
He is voiced by Darin De Paul.

- He decides to take in Baby Ice Bear, whom he told to leave his tent upon seeing hunters passing by his tent.
- He raises Baby Ice Bear as long as he could, developing a paternal relationship with the bear cub and teaching him to speak Russian, cook and other skills, most prominently how to use an axe.
- He tells Ice Bear that even though the world may seem harsh and cruel to the cub, it never benefits anyone to be cruel back at their abusers and asks him to promise that he will always be a good person. This has a lasting influence on Ice Bear, as shown in the episode "Band of Outsiders" when he is ransacking a bakery with a gang of streetwise kids he has a flashback to Yuri telling him this upon seeing in a photograph that the bakery owner has a family, and after the flashback Ice Bear comes back to his senses and refuses to do any more damage with the gang.
- He feels remorse for yelling at Baby Ice Bear after the latter got out his family picture, while looking at the photo.
- Upon hearing the hunters coming for Baby Ice Bear, who had walked into one of their traps, Yuri decides to go set out and save him from being poached.
- He frees Ice Bear from the poachers' trap and they flee on his snowmobile. Later, he sends Baby Ice Bear away into the sea by chopping the ice with his axe and a piece sets off with Baby Ice Bear on it so the hunters can't get him.
- Overall, his heroism (taking in Ice Bear, teaching him skills and saving him from the poachers) plays a huge part of how Ice Bear is the person he is today.
Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- While saving Baby Ice Bear from getting killed by the hunters allows him to pass the baseline, he drastically fails the admirable standard to Ice Bear himself, who has done much more admirable deeds in the show during both his childhood and adulthood.
- He attempted to kill Baby Ice Bear with an axe when they first met, thinking he was a rat trespassing in his tent.
