“ | Be the leader that the Widow promised to be. End this war, once and for all. | „ |
~ Wren's final words. |
Wren is a supporting character in the AMC Series Into the Badlands.
She is one of the Bowler Clippers serving the Widow in the war against Baron Chau to put a permanent end to the Cog slave trade. During an attempt to get through Sniper Ally, she loses one of her legs and becomes disillusioned from the Widow's cause. This event combined with the lack of resources sent by the Widow leads her and fellow Bowler Arthur to attempt a coup of the Butterfly Territory.
She was portrayed by Tamsin Topolski.
Her Good Ranking[]
Her Heroic Deeds[]
- She serves on the front lines fighting against Baron Chau, wanting to help overthrow the oppressive system of the Badlands.
- She tries to help Arthur, Sunny, and Bajie get through Sniper Ally and ends up losing on her legs because of it.
- Her and Arthur stage a coup of the Widow's territory, and while they are extreme in their methods of achieving it, their goal is righteous as they are trying to end the war.
- After she is defeated and set to be executed by the Widow for treason, her last request to the Widow is that she fulfil her original promise to end the war for good.
Why Doesn't She Stand Out?[]
- She doesn't come close to the admirable standards of the seires, as characters such as Bajie or Gaius Chau set out to protect others and change the world without being nearly as lethal as Wren.
- Due to the morally grey nature of the Widow's mission, it's fully possible that during her time as a Bowler Clipper Wren killed people that didn't deserve it.
- She can be quite a jerk, as she yells at Bajie after he saves her life by amputating her leg, as she doesn't want to live in a world where she cannot fight. While it's understandable that she would be upset in this situation, yelling at Bajie was unnecessary and clearly hurts him.
- She and Arthur stage a coup of the Widow's territory, and end up executing all of the Clippers that remain loyal to her.
