“ | Hello, traitors! Remember me?! You can leave me for dead, you can destroy everything I own, but I will not let you hurt that kid! | „ |
~ Wild Knuckles facing his former traitorous comrades to save Gru, and his most famous quote. |
Henry "Wild" Knuckles is the overarching protagonist of Illumination's 12th feature film, Minions: The Rise of Gru. He is a former supervillain and the original leader of the Vicious 6, until they double-crossed him. Now, he takes the role as young Gru's idol & parental figure.
He was voiced by the late Alan Arkin in his final role.
His Good Ranking[]
His Heroic Deeds[]
- Unlike the other members of the Vicious 6, he was loyal to them and never attemped to betray them.
- Although he originally kidnaps Gru and attemps to kill him, after he save his life, Wild Knuckles turns into his mentor and both create a bond. He also befriends the Minions in the climax.
- Although he decides to give up in his revenge after the Vicious 6 destroys his house and wants to separate from Gru, Wild Knucles goes to save him when he is captured by the Vicious 6.
- After defeating the Vicious 6, he successfully saves Gru's life and the one of other hundreds of people.
Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- He fails the admirable standards of the Despicable Me franchise because the main heroes saved thousands of people while Wild Knuckles just saved hundreds having similar resources.
- He is On & Off as he spent most of his life being a villain who commited crimes like retrieving the Zodiac Stone, killing people like Gru and the Vicious 6 (all originally) or teaching Gru to steal something of value in the Bank of Evil, as well he never shows remorse for any of this.
- He can be a jerk even during his heroic moments.
