The Boss is the overarching protagonist of the 2001 video game Payback and its 2012 remaster, Payback 2. He is mentioned in some of the missions in story mode.
His Good Ranking[]
His Heroic Deeds[]
- In Payback 1, he wanted to kill the KKK.
- He is loyal as doesn't betray his own gang to join the rivals that are gaining power by trying to expand into his territory and stealing his best men in the process.
- He jailbreaks 5 of his lads out of jail.
- He kindly provided a car for Travis to race with in a racing mission.
- He springs Travis out of jail so Travis can rescue his daughter from a kidnapper.
- He gave something nice to the mayor.
- In other missions, he wants to or does take down other criminals and gangsters.
Why he doesn't stand out[]
- He fails the admirable standards to Travis as the boss has more resources that him due to being a higher rank while Travis is a lower rank and did more good things.
- He doesn't have any voice lines and is only mentioned, making him insufficiently characterized.
- His good deeds like kindly providing Travis with a car are done offscreen, so he relies on fridge brilliance.
- He is an anti-hero as he gave the mayor something nice as a bribe to get him to clamp down on the rival gangs.
- Also most of the time he stopped other criminals and gangsters was probably out of mere rivalry or other criminal reasons.
- He is on & off as he wants or does something evil in most of the missions such as loading a huge truck with explosives to wipe out his main rivals.
- He is a control freak as he wanted to send a message to anyone else thinking of not paying up their protection money.
- He is a lethal extremist as he wanted the KKK dead, even though the KKK members were not a deadly threat.
