Banana!
~ Stuart's catchphrase.

Stuart is a major protagonist of Illumination's Despicable Me franchise, and serves as the deuteragonist of the series' prequel, Minions, and one of the three deuteragonists (alongside Kevin and Bob) of Minions: The Rise of Gru.

Stuart is the middle and egotistical companion of Kevin and Bob, who tagged along with the latter two to find a new and villainous master to serve, and the trio ended up finding Scarlet Overkill, but she eventually backstabbed and double-crossed them all and threatened to kill them, along with the rest of the tribe of minions. After she was defeated by Kevin and Gru, Stuart and the other minions tagged along with Gru. Among the trio, Stuart is the best and most reliable fighter, and is the toughest and most intimidating one.

Stuart is voiced by Pierre Coffin, who also voiced the rest of the other minions (including Kevin and Bob) in the same franchise.

Good Rankings[]

What Makes Him Heroic?[]

  • Although he was reluctant at first, Stuart agreed to join Kevin and Bob in their mission to find and attain a new master for the Minions.
  • He made usage of the Hypno-hat to hypnotize the guards so that they cannot harm him, Kevin and Bob in their mission to retrieve the crown from Queen Elizabeth II.
  • Along with Kevin and Bob, Stuart tries to apologize for "betraying" Scarlet Overkill, only to accidentally drop a chamber on them.
  • By the end of the first movie, Stuart decides to join forces with Gru.
  • He, Kevin and Bob are responsible for picking Gru up from school everyday.
  • He kicks Nunchuck to save his newborn son (Stuart Jr.) that was given birth from in one of Stuart's eggs after being transformed into a seemingly harmless little animal by Belle Bottom, as with Kevin and Bob.
  • He, Kevin and Bob defeat the Vicious 6 once and for all.
  • Along with Dave, he comes to rescue Gru and Lucy from the mall to prevent them from being seen by Eduardo Perez, more realistically known as El Macho. Stuart, in particular, came homing in onto El Macho to prevent the latter from capturing Gru and Lucy Wilde by bumping onto him with Lucy's car.
  • He disguises as a purple mutant minion to blend in with the other corrupted minons after pretending to arrest Gru.
  • He assists the other Minions in destroying the gum Balthazar Bratt launched on Hollywood.
  • Even after going back to villainy, he still retains his affable nature. Additionally, despite starting off with on-&-off heroism, Stuart ultimately chooses to remain good as he reforms with the other minions in Despicable Me 4.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]

  • Despite being one of the more admirable minions and having a deuteragonist role in Minions and Minions: The Rise of Gru, Stuart still fails the admirable standards to Kevin, who sacrificed himself to defeat Scarlet Overkill and Herb Overkill, and Bob, who offered Scarlet Overkill a crown to assist her in redeeming herself despite her heinous actions.
  • Stuart fails the resources since he appears in all five films of Despicable Me, especially being one of three main characters in the films of the prequel, Minions, yet Stuart's actions are not too unique to stand out.
  • Stuart is too perverted to be qualified as NPG, with notable examples including:
    • He tried to mate with a fire hydrant on the streets. Despite them not being sentient, this does not excuse that he still has sexual intentions.
    • He shook his rear in front of Scarlet Overkill.
    • Stuart made the guards take off their clothes and slap each other's rears when he hypnotized them.
    • After Bob became king of London/England, he went into the pool with a heavily questionable bathing suit and kissed a pair of fire hydrants.
    • Stuart mimicked the poses of Gru's mother with Kevin in a questionable manner.
    • He has thoughts of kissing a man full on the lips in the middle of his needle therapy.
    • He made an inappropriate face in front of Gru's new sidekick, Lucy.
    • He took off his overalls in public on the bleachers.
    • Along with all of the other Minions, he performed a heavily inappropriate dance and later harassed some inmates while in jail.
  • Even disregarding his perverted behavior, he still has several of moments being mischievous to his fellow Minions, as well as other people, and having some moments of being drastically arrogant and lazy.
