Sirius Black III, better known by his nickname Padfoot, is a major character from the Harry Potter series. He is the eldest male black, one of the four Marauders, and Harry Potter's godfather. He was portrayed by Gary Oldman.

- He is quite friendly to James, Remus and Peter.
- He decides to become an animagus to comfort Remus, who is a werewolf.
- He constantly fights Voldemort.
- He proposes to pretend that he's the Potters' guardian, but in fact, to make Peter as a guardian. When he knows that Peter is a traitor, he guilts himself, although he's hardly one to blame.
- He escapes from Azkaban to punish Peter for his treachery.
- He becomes a father-figure to Harry Potter and treats his friends well.
- He goes to Ministry to save Harry and his friends from Death Eaters and dies a heroic death.
Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- He fails the Harry Potter standards.
- He was a mischievous troublemaker and frequently took part in James bullying Severus Snape during their time at Hogwarts, which is also the reason Snape bullies and treats Harry with contempt. Although they were kids at the time and he did outgrow bullying Snape, he still never apologized to him.
- He is a massive jerk to his house elf Kreacher. While Kreacher is a jerk to him back, this does not excuse Sirius' treatment of him and said treatment is called out by other characters as being bad. Worse is that he never apologizes for this.
