Rogue Cheney is a supporting protagonist in the anime/manga Fairy Tail. He is a Shadow Dragon Slayer that was born 400 years ago, raised by Skiadrum who taught him his Dragon Slayer abilities. He, along with the other Dragon Slayer children were sent 400 years into the future in order to defeat Acnologia. He is a member of the Sabertooth guild and is partners with Sting Eucliffe as the team: The Twin Dragons of Sabertooth. Due to being ashamed of his name, he calls himself Ryos.

- While many of the Sabertooth members were rather rude and power hungry, he was actually quite kind compared to the other members.
- After Yukino got excommunicated from the guild, he still considered her a comrade despite her failure.
- He was the only member of Sabertooth who didn't laugh at Lucy getting brutally tortured by Minerva and didn't join to defend Minerva.
- He is very protective towards Frosch, showing that he hugged Frosch so it wouldn't follow the same fate Lector had to face by Jiemma.
- After finding out that he was going to be evil in the future, he refuses that he will turn evil and said that he has no desire of ruling the world.
- Since Gray was going to the reason that he was going to turn evil due to him killing Frosch, since Natsu told him and Frosch to stay behind, he does not follow that path of darkness.
- He tried to help take down one of the Seven Dragons when the Dragons got released from the Eclipse Gate.
- Apart of the help of refreshing Sabertooth for the better.
- He and Sting defeat Jiemma in Tartaros.
- He decided to help Fairy Tail with their battle against the Alvarez Empire.
- He gives Sting his power so he can beat Larcade, and was able to guide him to enter his own shadow to ward off the drowsiness and increase his senses, which was able to defeat Larcade.
- He took part in defeating Acnologia in the Time Rift, giving his magic power to Natsu, making him defeat Acnologia and saving the world.
- He did show some arrogance by calling himself a "true Dragon Slayer" at first, but seems to subvert it.
Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- He fails the admirable standards in the Fairy Tail franchise to many other characters such as Natsu who saved and protected his friends many times and was the one that prevented his current from turning evil, since Gray was about to kill Frosch, making him follow that dark path for his future self. He and Rogue and Frosch stay in town until he gets back from defeating Avatar.
- When wanting to know where Frosch is since it got lost, he angrily asked the people he was talking to where Frosch was, showing that he can be a minor jerk at times, and even punched Ichyia for not telling him where Frosch is.
