Heroic Benchmark Wiki

Roger Radcliffe is one of the two overarching protagonists in the 101 Dalmatians franchise. He is the dog owner of Pongo, Perdita, and 84 Puppies.

In the original film, he was voiced by the late Ben Wright and the late Bill Lee. In the 1996 live-action remake of the same name, he was portrayed by Jeff Daniels. In modern media, he was voiced by Frank Welker and Tim Bentinck.

His Good Ranking[]

His Heroic Deeds[]

In General[]

  • He is a smart and caring husband to Anita as he does whatever he can to make him listen to him regarding his suspicions about Cruella De Vil.
  • He cares for his pets and is aware of their sapience.
  • Compared to Anita, he doesn't have any corrupting qualities and stands out in being brave and clever, especially when dealing with Cruella.

101 Dalmatians[]

  • He and Pongo married Anita and Perdita, since they grew bored of being bachelors.
  • He exposed Cruella De Vil and this causes her to leave the house. As a result, his heroism brought a good impression to Anita, Nanny, Pongo and Perdita.
  • He got mad at Anita for not understanding Cruella’s true intentions in the first place and for ignoring his suspicions.
  • During their night out in Regent’s Park, unaware that Pongo was spreading the news to all the dogs in England, Roger got annoyed by Pongo and took him home so the noise won’t be disturbed in London.
  • He, Anita and Nanny reunited with Pongo, Perdita and all 84 puppies.
  • He planned to keep 84 puppies and decided to move to a countryside in England.

101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure[]

  • He, Anita, and their dogs did their best to find Patch, who was left behind in London.
  • Once again, he, his wife, and Nanny reunited with 101 Dalmatians.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]

  • While exposing Cruella and his acts of animal kindness helps him pass the baseline, he fails the admirable standards to Pongo and Perdita, who went on a dangerous quest to save 84 puppies.

Trivia[]

  • He and Bagheera are currently the only two characters from a 1960's Disney film to be Heroic Benchmarks.
  • Despite being spouses of one another, he and Anita have the exact opposite moral rankings like Jim Dear and Darling from Lady and the Tramp, as both Roger and Darling are Heroic Benchmark, while Anita and Jim Dear are both Standard Good.
