~ Princess Ruto |
Princess Ruto is one of the supporting characters who first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. She is the daughter of King Zora and the local princess of Zora's Domain. She has a crush on the hero, Link long before she accepted her fate as the Sage of Water.
Her Good Deeds[]
Her Heroic Deeds[]
- Princess Ruto plays a gameplay role during the Lord Jabu Jabu's Belly dungeon sequence as she is often needed to activate switches, usually ones that require either extra weight or constant pressure. She lost the Zora’s Sapphire after Lord Jabu Jabu swallows it and she herself was accidentally swallowed in the process.
- She is willing to give Link her treasured possession, Zora's Sapphire in gratitude for coming to her rescue. This was noble as this grants Link access to the Sacred Realm where he acquires the Master Sword.
- After being freed by Sheik (Princess Zelda in disguise) from the magic red ice that trapped her inside, she heads out to the Water Temple to defeat Morpha to restore Zora's Domain, which froze over the seven years and the water in Lake Hylia which was almost completely drained by the curse.
- Ruto willingly accepts her place as the Sage of Water, even when she knows that she will never be together with Link.
- Along with the six awakened Sages, she managed to seal Ganondorf away to restore peace to Hyrule.
Why Doesn't She Stand Out?[]
- Princess Ruto fails The Legend of Zelda's high admirable standards to Princess Zelda as well as Link (both within the same era as her) as they did most of the work in their own adventures.
- She has moments where she can be very bossy and stubborn towards Link and has some jerk moments, and she doesn't apologize for them.
- She openly admits that she doesn't care that her father is worried over her safety.
