~ Aurora |
Princess Aurora (also known as Sleeping Beauty, Briar Rose or simply Aurora for short) is the titular protagonist in Disney's 16th full-length animated film of 1959, Sleeping Beauty.
As the only daughter of King Stefan and Queen Leah, she was cursed by the evil Maleficent to die on her sixteenth birthday by pricking her finger on the spinning wheel. Due to the efforts of the Three Good Fairies, the curse was altered, so that Aurora will only remain a sleep until True Love's Kiss. She is the third Disney Princess in the official lineup.
In the original animated film, she was voiced by Mary Costa and was modeled by the late Helene Stanley, who also modeled Cinderella and later Anita in 101 Dalmatians. In other media, she has been voiced by Erin Torpey, Jennifer Hale, and Kate Higgins.

TBA
Ralph Breaks the Internet[]
- She was very kind to Vanellope when she glitched into the Disney Princesses' room.
- She helped save Wreck-It Ralph from falling after he defeated Arthur.
Why She Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- She doesn’t pass the general or in-story standards for several reasons:
- She contributes very little to the original film's plot, as it focuses more on not only with the Three Good Fairies, but also with Maleficent and Prince Phillip.
- As kind as she is, she still fails to do anything heroic in the original as she spends some time in the film being asleep until the end after Maleficent's own demise.
- On top of that, she also has the role of a a helpless and passive damsel-in-distress who wanted to marry a prince and barely did anything admirable.
- While this is a nice gesture, her kind and nice traits only pertain to bog-standard acts of kindness, causing her to fail the admirable standards too much to her husband and her three fairy godmothers, as they all played heroic roles in defeating Maleficent and saving the whole kingdom, including Aurora, her parents, and King Hubert.
- The only thing she does in the original was being kind to her animal friends and obedient to her adopted "aunts". While this is a nice gesture, this is still not heroic enough as it also relies on bog-standard acts of kindness.
- Her saving Wreck-It Ralph from his fall was shared with the other Disney Princesses.
Trivia[]
- She was originally thought to be Pure Good; but as the general standards changed overtime, it was discovered that most of the factors Aurora have doesn't qualify enough to stand out, since being friendly and nice isn't exactly heroic.
- As a result, this makes her and Snow White the only two Disney Princesses to be Heroic Benchmark.
- Even though this version of Aurora is Heroic Benchmark, her live action counterpart is considered Pure Good due to her being more proactive rather than being just a damsel in distress.
- She is one of few main protagonists who fails the admirable standards too much, such as Sophiana or Thumbelina.
