Prince Naveen is the deuteragonist of Disney’s 49th animated feature film The Princess and the Frog. He is a gregarious, smooth-talking, and fun-loving prince who comes to New Orleans after being cut off from his family's fortune in which he is accompanied by his valet Lawrence. Due to being new in the city, he is persuaded by the shady Dr. Facilier into taking a tour of his office, which results in a curse transforming him into a frog.
He is voiced by Bruno Campos. During the movie, he often makes exclamations in his native language of Maldonian, which is descended from Italian.
His Good Ranking[]
His Heroic Deeds[]
- Although he is arrogant towards Tiana at first, he later changes for the better and teaches Tiana music.
- He helps Tiana escape the Frog Hunters even though he had already escaped them and could have easily abandoned her.
- He stopped the wedding between Charlotte and Lawrence (disguised as the prince), which distracted Dr. Facilier from using a voodoo doll to kill Charlotte's father.
- Out of love, he decided to marry Charlotte in order to give Tiana the money for her restaurant, even though that meant he could never be with Tiana.
- He helps Tiana with her restaurant.
Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- Although he changes for the better, having initially been a lazy and arrogant anti-hero, he never does anything heroic in the story. Therefore, he fails the admirable standards to Tiana.
Trivia[]
- He, along with Prince Charming and The Prince are currently the only Disney Princes to be Heroic Benchmarks. Ironically, three of them were proposed as Pure Good and were rejected.
