Pinocchio is the protagonist of Pinocchio. He was brought to live as a wooden boy by the Blue Fairy and he tried to earn his rights to become a human boy with Jiminy Cricket helping him.
What heroic deeds did he do?[]
- He escaped with Jiminy two times when he was fooled by Stromboli and later Coachman.
- He saved Geppetto from drowning in water, putting his life at risk for Geppetto in the time.
- After Jiminy read the letter saying that Geppetto was stuck in Monstro’s stomach, Pinocchio decided to go out to save him.
- When Jiminy was about to physically attack Lampwick, Pinocchio told Jiminy not to hit him.
- Even though he did frighten the sea creatures when asking them about Monstro, it was only to find out where Geppetto was.
What does he not stand out?[]
- Despite that risking his life to save Geppetto make him heroic enough, he still massively fails the admirable standards compared to Jiminy who, with less resources, saved Pinocchio many times and lacks moral agency issues.
- Even though it’s most likely that he shedded this, Pinocchio continuously lied for almost half of the movie, so it’s not certain of how much he’s beyond his unnecessary lying behavior. This is a minor prevention as he apologizes for it and promises to never do it again.
Trivia[]
- Ever since Snow White and the Seven Dwarves were removed as HBs, Pinocchio is currently the first Disney character to be a HB.
