The Penguin King is a minor character who appeared in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. He is the king of the Snow Kingdom who, despite his best efforts to repel Bowser and his army, the Super Star was stolen, and he and his subjects are imprisoned in the Dark Lands with Lumalee, Luigi, and eventually the Kong army.
He was voiced by Khary Payton.

- The Penguin King attempted to defend his kingdom and the Super Star from Bowser and the Koopa Army, even though he did not succeed, and it would be left up to Mario, Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, Toad, and eventually Luigi to help turn things around.
- He greatly cares about his subjects and advises Luigi not to pay attention to Lumalee's nihilistic ramblings on life.
Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- The Penguin King fails the admirable standards way too much to the main heroes (Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, and Toad) and is only amounted to defending his kingdom, as well as spending the majority of the film being trapped in the cage.
- What's more is that he does not partake in the final battle at the climax like Luigi did.
- Speaking of which, Luigi has more heroic factors than he did, despite finding himself in the same scenario as him for a while in the middle of the film until the beginning of the climax.
