~ Otto going after the biker to get back the Zodiac Stone. |
Otto is the titular tritagonist of Illumination's 12th full-length feature animated film, Minions: The Rise of Gru.
Otto is Gru's misguided servant who traded the Zodiac Stone for a Pet Rock. After trading it, he retrieved the stone to back Gru, giving him the advantage to successfully defeat the Vicious 6, and the minions were rehired for a job thanks to Otto.
Otto is voiced by Pierre Coffin, alongside Kevin, Bob, Stuart and Mel from the Despicable Me franchise.
Good Rankings[]
Heroic Deeds[]
- Similar to Margo Gru and Agnes Gru, Otto has a positive influence on Gru, attempting to reassure him and be comic relief after Gru has been rejected from being a member of the Vicious 6.
- Otto rides on Gru's jetbike with Gru, Kevin, Bob and Stuart to escape the Vicious 6's wrath. While he did trade it for a pet rock out of attraction for it (which caused the Minions to end up getting fired), this is actually beneficial since this prevented the Vicious 6 from stealing it easily and transforming into almighty zodiac animals to commit world domination.
- Otto reunites with the biker, who has the Zodiac Stone, and develops a very affectionate friendship with him along the way, before Otto retrieves the Zodiac Stone to Gru, giving him the advantage to ultimately defeat the Vicious 6 by transforming them into almighty zodiac animals into harmless rats before being sent to their well-deserved imprisonment by the Anti-Villain League.
- Otto saves Gru from being killed by a burning clock set by Belle Bottom, even if it endangered his own life.
Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- Despite Otto being one of the more admirable Minions, he still fails the high admirable standards to the Despicable Me franchise, more especially to Kevin, Bob and even Stuart.
- He is ridiculously incompetent at being a hero since he was tasked to get the Zodiac Stone back to Gru's home, but he gets distracted at a Pet Rock and trades the Zodiac Stone for the Pet Rock, thus having all of the Minions temporarily fired and kickstarting the events of the movie.
- He displays a mischievous side because he constantly annoys Gru and other Minions with his non-stop blabbering.
- He is among the Minions that bribed Dr. Nefario to come join them and Gru, preventing him from reforming.
- He is too perverted to be NPG as he thought about kissing a pancake that looks like his pet rock, scanned his rear on the scanner and took off his clothes in an attempt to get popcorn for Bob.
