Oggy is the titular main protagonist of the French animated comedy series, Oggy and the Cockroaches. He's a blue cat whose best friend is Jack and his girlfriend, later wife is Olivia, and his arch-nemeses are the Cockroaches.

He is voiced by Hugues Le Bars, who composed the soundtrack.

His Good Ranking[]

His Heroic Deeds[]

  • He protected his own house from cockroaches on a daily basis, who always try stealing food from him.
  • Even though he doesn't like the cockroaches, it is always implied that he does have fun being with them.
  • He always treats Jack well despite Jack often acting arrogant.
  • He deeply cares for Olivia, his girlfriend.
  • Although Bob often bullies him, Oggy remains respectful of him. Sometimes he even gets to befriend Bob on certain occasions.

Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]

  • According to the show's plot, he doesn't commit any significantly heroic actions. All he does is generic friendliness, and that's not enough to meet the baseline.
  • He can be sadistic since he often beats up the cockroaches with a fly swatter and puts their lives in danger, and although they do deserve it for their brazen behavior, Oggy sometimes antagonizes them even when they have done nothing to him.
    • For example, he installed barbed wire in the garden and connected electricity, during a thunderstorm. One of the cockroaches (Dee Dee) remained in the garden, realizing that he was trapped and couldn’t get out and was helpless, he began to cry bitter tears. The audience is meant to sympathize with Dee Dee in this moment, and although Oggy didn't know that Dee Dee was left in the garden bed, he still assumed that he and the rest of the cockroaches would climb there and get hurt. Although Oggy's motivation is understandable, this is far too vengeful for him to be Near Pure Good.
    • Another example is that at the end of an episode, he unfairly punished the cockroaches for something they didn't do. There punishment was pulling Oggy's motor cycle to the gas station. Not to mention, in that episode, Oggy acted greedy and became obsessed with money.
  • Sometimes Oggy does illegal things.
    • He was caught speeding by a policeman, and instead of finding out what was wrong, Oggy turned this policeman into his ex-girlfriend and then tied her up and took her somewhere. And although nothing indicates he committed something really bad to his ex-girlfriend, the fact he turned into her police officer (who did nothing wrong to him and simply doing his job, and then took her to be tied up and gagged in an unknown direction), is still way too serious for a positive hero.
  • Plus, Oggy is reckless and an incompetent dimwit, which often goes far too much for him to be Near Pure Good. Sometimes he falls into his own traps that he himself had set for the cockroaches, and he often acts without thinking ahead.
  • His series overall lacks both an admirable and heinous standard.

Trivia[]

  • Like several other characters on this wiki, Oggy was once considered Pure Good, but as the admirable standards changed overtime and it was found out that Oggy and the Cockroaches show doesn't have any admirable or heinous standards at all and thus he simply has nothing to pass, it was desided to remove his Pure Good status and to put him here.
