Officer Knight is one of the three overarching protagonists (alongside Greg the Dog and Grace the Cat) of Dav Pilkey's Dog Man novel series, a spin-off to the Captain Underpants franchise.
His Good Ranking[]
His Heroic Deeds[]
- Many times in the past, he and Greg have stopped countless robberies and other threats to the city.
- While he does sit on Chief's couch without his consent, he does feel remorse for it and wishes to make it up to Chief.
- After hearing about a bomb, he immediately rushes to defuse it, sacrificing his life to defuse it.
- Despite knowing that he will not have any conscious thought anymore if Dog Man were created between him and Greg, he fully accepts it and even shouts "hooray!" when the idea is created.
- He is shown to genuinely trust and care Greg with his life, even asking him what bomb wire to cut.
Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]
- While his sacrifice to defuse a deadly bomb does pass the baseline, he still fails the massive admirable standard of the series to many characters who have aided in saving the world numerous times.
- While his sacrifice also ended up with the creation of Dog Man, a very admirable hero, he was entirely unaware of the admirable deeds he later committed.
- Furthermore, his action of defusing the bomb relies under Fridge Brilliance, as it's unknown if the bomb threatened any other lives.
- It is implied that he is very mischievous at times, with Chief not being surprised at Officer Knight being the one to sleep on his couch.
- He has a severe lack of characterization, only appearing within the first ten pages of the first book and never appearing again.
