“ | You have a gift. You have power. And with great power, there must also come great responsibility. | „ |
~ May delivering the famous line, usually associated with Uncle Ben, to Peter; also, her last words. |
Maybelle "May" Parker is a major character of the Spider-Man trilogy of Marvel Cinematic Universe, and a minor character in Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame.
As Peter Parker's friendly aunt, she is an upbeat and fun-loving person, and a supportive aunt for Peter since her husband, Ben, died. Once she discovers that Peter is the superhero Spider-Man, while initially shocked, she not only approved, but encouraged him to continue being a superhero and always helping people.
She was portrayed by Marisa Tomei.
Her Good Ranking[]
Her Heroic Deeds[]
General[]
- All in all, she doesn't display any corrupting qualities and is very kind and supportive towards Peter.
Spider-Man: Homecoming[]
- She helps Peter get ready to go with Liz to the school's homecoming party.
- Though she was understandably shocked at first, even going as far as to using swear words, she not only approves, but supports and encourages Peter's activities as Spider-Man, as she is someone who always likes to help people.
Spider-Man: Far From Home[]
- Sent Peter's uniform with him to his trip, which would be useful later.
- She makes some charity campaigns.
Spider-Man: No Way Home[]
- When revealing to Happy that she wasn't interested in him, she tried to deliver the message the best way so he wouldn't feel hurt.
- Effortlessly tried to defend and prove the innocence of Peter and resolve the situation with the justice.
- She hired Matt Murdock, a very good lawyer to help Peter resolve the things, which was ultimately a success.
- Took care of Norman Osborn.
- Helped and encouraged Peter to cure the villains, despite they are being apparently and likely bad-aligned people, as she always wants to help everybody.
- When Green Goblin was strangling Peter by the neck, she grabbed a nearby hammer and prepared to fight him, despite having literally no chance of winning against him.
- In her dying moments, she gave Peter the famous teaching and mantra, "with great power, comes great responsibility", which echoed inside Peter always afterwards, served as an advice every time he had to decide something, and was a great factor that prevented Peter from falling into darkness.
Why She Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- Although she passes the baseline by sacrificing her own life to stop Green Goblin from killing her underage nephew, she fails the gigantic admirable standard of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
- She also fails the individual capability and resource tied because she is very rich and is capable of being more admirable, but she only uses it for a single Goodness Zone crossing.
