~ Margo to Edith and Agnes, the statement that turned out to be prophetic. |
Margo Gru is one of the three deuteragonists (alongside Edith and Agnes) of the Despicable Me franchise.
She is a 13-year old girl, and the oldest of the three orphan sisters who is the brainy and sarcastic one of the trio, but is otherwise the most mature of the trio. Like her younger sisters, Margo has been adopted by Gru. She is partially the reason Vector is trapped on the moon.
She is voiced by Miranda Cosgrove, who also voiced Summer Hathaway in School of Rock, Carly Shay in ICarly, and Megan Parker in Drake & Josh.
Her Good Ranking[]
Her Heroic Deeds[]
- As the oldest of the trio, she is typically been a wonderful example to Agnes and Edith and is very protective of them.
- As an orphan of Mrs. Hattie's, she helps deliver cookies to neighbors.
- She scolds Edith for splashing water onto her foot, skirt and Agnes.
- She tries to encourage her sisters that the trio will be safe in their new home, and even though she states that Gru will not be her dad, it is because despite being patient with the girls, he has the nerve to feed them out of a literal dog bowl and even expects them to defecate on a newspaper, so it would be much more unorthodox if she did not warn him of that probability.
- She helps Agnes get a new unicorn, being the first to ask Gru if he would let Agnes play for it in the first place before Agnes herself requested that.
- She and the other girls offer Gru their pocket money when he just told the Minions he is in desperate need of money.
- She solemnly thanks Gru for everything when he gives the girls up instead of saying anything bitter to his face, going to show just how mature Margo actually is. And when Agnes expects Gru to show up, Margo correctly tells her that it is extremely unlikely that he would attend the girls' recital if he had allegedly given them up so recently.
- She tries to warn Vector that the moon is regrowing and would kill them all though he does not listen.
- She throws Edith and Agnes onto Gru's ship so that they will live at the cost of her life (and to an extent, Gru's life too) being drastically endangered.
- After Gru saves her life, she was thankful that she was saved and gained the courage to call him her dad.
- She dances again for Gru and encourages him to dance along with them.
- She supports Agnes on her birthday and comforts the kids when they got scared of Gru's dog.
- She encourages Gru to fall in love with Lucy.
- She braves the purple minion legions with Dr. Nefario and the other girls.
- Even though she states that she hates boys, it is only after Antonio callously ditched her, and despite her stating that teenagers are horrible despite being one is somewhat hypocritical, she just barely got blasted by a glitter bomb in her temporary locker installed by an unknown prankster and she is only human after all. Plus, she is only a little girl. She generally seems to be extremely nice to everyone regardless of age or gender throughout the course of the four films, so Margo clearly did not mean it.
- She encourages Lucy to be a disciplinary mother and hugs her when she successfully scares Niko's mother off.
- She, along with her sisters, fight against Principal Übelschlecht when she was attacking Gru and Lucy.
- Unlike most other protagonists of the quadrilogy, she has nothing corruptive about herself whatsoever.
Why Doesn't She Stand Out?[]
- Even though she has the overall mindset and personality to be PG, she drastically fails the high admirable standards of the franchise.
