His Good Ranking[]
His Heroic Deeds[]
Cars[]
- He helped The King finish the last lap of the Dinoco 400 tiebreaker race after Chick severely injured him by ramming him off the track. By doing this, he grows to realize that helping others is more important than receiving fame, becoming much more selfless.
- Despite agreeing to “Tractor Tipping” he was very reluctant to doing it, and only laughed due their farts.
Cars 2[]
- He both mentally and financially helped the Radiator Springs residents by moving in with them, being one of their first customers in years and helping them become popular again.
- He helped Mater save both London and the World Grand Prix racers by helping to get to the bottom of the identity of the boss of the Lemons.
Cars 3[]
- He let Cruz get her chance at being a race car, nearly sacrificing his career in the process.
- He in general cares a lot about his friends and is willing to make risks for them.
- Although he had a lot of corrupting qualities in the first film, he shreds all of them in the sequels.
Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- He fails the admirable standards of Cars too much.
- Although Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell had more resources than him, he still fails the standards to Mater, who was the main source of rescuing many from the Lemons' antics, and arguably Sarge, who saved McQueen by switching out McQueen's fuel and bringing his affiliates along to defeat the Lemons, though to be fair, he wasn't given the heroic role for Cars 2 to have this admirable level of chance.
- Furthermore, his best act was helping a retired racer win out of selflessness and saving a racetrack, with stopping Miles Axlerod being shared with Mater, making him very bog-standard.
Trivia[]
- He is one of the few main protagonists to fail the standards of their stories too much, along with Sophiana, Thumbelina from Don Bluth's cartoons, Arthur Pendragon from The Sword in the Stone, Emperor Kuzco, BoJack Horseman, Mowgli, Snow White, Dumbo, Oliver Twist and Aurora.
- Coincidentally, his arch-rival, Chick Hicks, is a completely evil Villainous Benchmark (VB).
- McQueen is unique among the Pixar protagonists as he does both lose and win, though it was meant to teach viewers that you don’t often win competitions in life and that there are more important things than winning.
