Klaus is a minor character of the manga and anime Attack on Titan, he was a soldier of the Survey Corps who classified as a Team Leader, but’s unknown which Squad Leader he used to work under. He fought during the Battle of Shiganshina District to retake Wall Maria, where he would also be in charge of leading the new recruits, he was during that battle killed by The Beast Titan.

• He was one of the older members of the Survey Corps, meaning that he participated in numerous expeditions to help humanity.
• He was one of the many soldiers that fought in the Battle of Shiganshina, which would eventually result in Wall Maria being retaken.
• Klaus was tasked as the leader of the new recruits and would try to keep them out of danger by fighting the Titans so they can protect the horses.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?

• Despite being an old member of the Survey Corps, his character was only presented during the Battle of Shiganshina, so the exact amount of effect he had on the Survey Corps isn’t very clear compared to many other senior officers, such as Hange Zoe, Levi Ackerman and Erwin Smith.  
• The full amount of his most noticeable heroic action was defending the young recruits and horses from the Titans, but after that was accomplished, he was directly killed alongside many others. Making him fail the admirable standards for not committing more deeds despite his high status in the Survey Corps. This was also somewhat subtly stated by Floch Forster, as he tells Marlowe that “All the powerful Survey Corps members just got wiped out in the blink of an eye.”
