Kirby Reed is a major character in the Scream franchise.

She was a Woodsbro High School student who became an investigator and special agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the Atlanta office, after the 2011 Woodsboro Murders as the sole teen survivor. She traveled to New York after discovering the new Ghostface murders happening at that city.

She was portrayed by Hayden Panettiere, who also voiced Fairy Princess Willow in Scooby-Doo! and the Goblin King.

• She saved Charlie Walker from Ghostface when he was tied up, unaware that he was Ghostface.

Scream VI

• She investigated Jason Carvey and Greg Bruckner since she had a suspicion that they were killers.
• She came over to New York to help investigate the murders.
• She did a phone tracing in a police van to try and catch Ghostface.
• She tried to defend Tara and Sam Carpenter from Ethan and Quinn Bailey by shooting to scare them off.
• She killed Ethan with a television, preventing him from killing Tara and Sam.
• She assured Sam that she is welcome to call her if she ever needs help.

Why She Doesn't Stand Out?

• She ultimately failed the admirable standards to Sidney Prescott, Tara Carpenter, Samantha Carpenter, Gale Weathers, Dewey Riley, and Randy Meeks.
• She can come off as rude sometimes, such as in Scream 4 when Trevor said hi to her at the party and she immediately gave him the middle finger (though this was because he cheated on Jill), and in Scream VI, she told Gale that she had a gun, although she most likely said this in order to startle her a bit, since Gale provoked her first by teasing about her age.

• She was one of the only heroes in the Scream franchise to have a provisional death after their debut installment, which she was presumed deceased in Scream 4, only to reappear in Scream (2022) in a YouTube video thumbnail titling "Interview with Woodsboro Survivor Kirby Reed!".
