Your heart... Your boundless compassion... With those precious gifts, you have saved my life. While I accused you of evading your duty... in truth, perhaps I was guilty of the same. Forgive me.

His Good Ranking[]

His Heroic Deeds[]

In General[]

  • Upon learning of Calamity Ganon's return in a prophecy, King Rhoam orders everyone to excavate the Guardians and the Divine Beasts as they had been used during Ganon's previous attack.
  • He has four Champions, Mipha, Daruk, Revali, and Urbosa selected to control each of the Divine Beasts.
  • He was remorseful over how harsh he has been to his daughter, Princess Zelda throughout the years, having always put being a king first before being a father to her.

Breath of the Wild[]

  • He made a resolve to reconcile with Zelda as shown in his journal, but unfortunately, he did so the day Calamity Ganon arrived and also the day he died. All before he was actually able to do so.
  • He helps Link survive the harsh wilderness which was the ruined kingdom of Hyrule and teaches him the necessities for him to adapt to the world around him.
  • After revealing himself, as Link has no memory of previous events, Rhoam recounts to him the tale of how Hyrule had been laid waste by Ganon and gave him a paraglider and a mission to visit Impa in Kakariko Village.

Age of Calamity[]

  • When Calamity Ganon made its return and Link, and his friends went back to the castle to save him, only to flee. It wasn't until they have to flee was when a corrupted Guardian attempted to kill them, King Rhoam steps in and stuns it with his sword and orders them to flee while he keeps them busy.
  • After surviving the Guardians' attack, he was still guilty over what he had done to his daughter until he was saved by Urbosa in Guardian of Remembrance, who gives him closure about her.
  • Because he survived, he was able to reconcile with Zelda when they meet up again at the Temple of Time.
  • King Rhoam took part in the battle with the united army of Hyrule where they managed to defeat Calamity Ganon with everything changed so that critical allies live on.

Why Doesn't He Stand Out?[]

  • King Rhoam fails the high admirable standards to his daughter, the Champions, and especially Link, each of whom have their actions portrayed on screen. In Breath of the Wild, his actions come to an end, and he is not seen again until the epilogue where he and the Champions bid farewell before they left the mortal world.
  • He came across as a jerk and a control freak when it comes to Princess Zelda being unable to fulfil her sacred duties and was overly harsh when he tells her that she would end up on a throne of nothing but failure and disallowing her from pursuing her passion for ancient technology.
