♫ Lay down your head, in this warm and cozy bed, and if I leave before you wake, don't go thinking that I have fled. For these walls cannot contain us, we will go places we've never been. But know that I'll be here, when you return to this home again. So lay down your head, there is nothing here to dread, and if you leave before I wake, then good night, love, is the last thing I said. ♫
~ Karla's lullaby.

Karla is a supporting character in the 2015 Cartoon Network series, We Bare Bears, with her first and sole appearance being in the episode, The Island.

Prior to the events of the aforementioned episode, Karla got stranded on an island after a shipwreck, alongside her fellow castaway, Dave. The two have been attempting to plot their best plans to escape and rift off the island for a while before meeting the three bears, and Karla had a dear sister before being shipwrecked, thus planning to escape the island to reunite with her. Although she had loyalty towards Dave at the beginning, it ultimately shattered after Dave's psychopathic and perverted nature was revealed and exposed by the bears. Karla's supportive heroism towards the bears is what made them into who they are up to this day.

Karla was voiced by Felicia Day, who also voices Betty Grof from Adventure Time.

Her Good Ranking[]

Her Heroic Deeds[]

  • Alongside Dave, Karla saved the three bears from drowning in quicksand by throwing a vine towards them in order for the bears to grab onto it and pull themselves out of the quicksand. While Dave is too reluctant and blunt to bond with the bears, Karla is more than eager and passionate to bond with the three cubs, acting as a protective "mother" figure towards the three cubs.
  • When Grizzly asks her if she misses home, she replies that she does and declares that she and the bears will get off the island, offering a huge positive influence and hope.
  • Once Dave's psychopathic and delusional nature is discovered and exposed by the three bears, Karla rightfully shatters her loyalty towards Dave and sided with the bears to escape the island, and left Dave behind in the island all by himself. If Dave presumably starved to death or was rescued and later incarcerated for his actions, it was deserved for him attempting to restrain himself and Karla in the island in order to win the latter's heart.
  • Karla's heroism (saving the bears from Dave and escaping the island) plays a huge part of how the bears raised themselves and lived the happy life they are living up to this day.
  • Among the heroes in the We Bare Bears series, Karla is one of those who virtually lack corrupting factors, thus making her a completely good hero.

Why She Doesn't Stand Out?[]

  • Although saving the bears from Dave's villainous nature allows her to pass the baseline, she drastically fails the admirable standards to the bears themselves, who have done more admirable actions even in their childhood.
