Kabal is a supporting protagonist in the Mortal Kombat franchise.

He is portrayed by Richard Divisio in Mortal Kombat 3, and his 2nd Timeline counterpart is voiced by David Lodge in Mortal Kombat (2011) and by Jonathan Cahill in Mortal Kombat 11.

His Good Ranking[]

His Heroic Deeds[]

  • After Shao Kahn turns on Kabal, leaving him viciously scarred and forced to be on a respirator, he becomes a hero and helps Liu Kang and Earthrealm's defenders end Shao Kahn's conquest.
  • In his MK3 ending, he defeats Shao Kahn and Motaro, even Kano and the Black Dragon thugs.
  • He had been warning Liu Kang and Earthrealm defenders about Shao Kahn's plan on invading the realms if he succeeds on his goals.
  • Even after falling into villainy again, he never subverted any redeeming qualities at all, not even one and he is still genuinely polite and caring to people.
  • After the Armageddon battle, he redeems himself after realizing what he's doing is wrong.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]

  • He fails the admirable standards to other heroes such as Liu Kang, Kitana, Johnny Cage, and Sonya Blade.
  • After Shao Kahn's invasion, between MK3 and MK:DA, after Havik visits Kabal, whether willingly or not, he falls into villainy once again, returning to his criminal roots, proving he is on & off.
  • He is an anti-hero and an extremist as he used questionable methods such as betraying some of the Black Dragon Clan members and unreasonably attacking Taven.
  • He tries to kill Liu Kang, the Special Forces and many other heroes under Havik's order.
