Dan Espinoza is one of the main protagonists of the TV series Lucifer. He is the ex husband of Chloe Decker who is initially antagonistic towards Lucifer for several reasons. In the middle of the first season he is revealed to have been complicit in police corruption which his associate Malcom Graham uses to blackmail him. Eventually Dan's guilt causes him to turn himself in and try to be a better person though he ends up resorting to illegal methods again several times. In the fifth season Lucifer's brother Michael arranges for Dan to be killed and he is sent to Hell as a result of his guilt. With Lucifer's help he realized his guilt was about his daughter Trixie and he talked to her which allowed him to get into Heaven.
