Heroic Benchmark Wiki

Corat Damar is a major character in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He is a ruthless cardassian patriot who served under Gul Dukat and later leading his people before ending up on the same side as the heroes when he betrays his Dominion allies when he betrayed them so he could save his people from their cruelty.

His Good Ranking[]

His Heroic Deeds[]

  • Even as a villain he was genuinely loyal to Dukat and arranged for him to be altered into looking like a Bajoran despite having nothing personally to gain from it.
  • He genuinely cared for the Cardassians under his command and treated them decently.
  • Freed Worf and Ezri Dax from Cardassia Prime.
  • After getting fed up of the way the Dominion treated his people, Damar launched a rebellion out of sincere desire to help other Cardassians and the personal risks to himself which ended up succeeding and played a role in ending the war altogether.
  • Destroyed the cloning facility on Rondac IIII, putting an end to any clones of Weyoun once and for all.
  • Put aside his differences with Garak and Kira to fight the Dominion despite his men objecting to it.
  • After his family is murdered and Kira calls him out on how he'd helped inflict the same on many innocent people Damar shows remorse for his actions and accepts that Cardassia can't be the same as it once was after they save it from the Dominion.
  • Kills his own friend Rusot in order to save Kira's life.
  • Led the final assault on the Dominion headquarters, dying in the process but fighting bravely for his people.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]

  • While he easily passes the baseline for playing a key role in freeing his people he fails the admirable standards to Kira and Garak who played a more direct role in ending the war by capturing the Female Changeling.
  • He spent most of his time on the show as a villain who enabled Dukat's corruption, and did several terrible things such as murdering Tora Ziyal.
  • Despite being a married man he cheated on his wife.
