Claus, later known as the Masked Man, is the deuteragonist and later secondary antagonist of Nintendo's JRPG video game, Mother 3. Claus is the older twin brother of Lucas who became brainwashed by Porky Minch into becoming his slave, known as the Masked Man.

- Cares greatly for his family, regularly being a kind brother figure towards Lucas.
- Helps stop a Mole Cricket that is threatening him and Lucas.
- Helped free his father from jail which allowed him to save multiple people.
- Singlehandedly tried to save the village and avenge his mother who was murdered by a monstrous Mecha Drago despite his practically non-existent resources.
- Despite being brainwashed beyond humanity as a mindless slave by Porky Minch, he breaks free from his brainwashing with the help of his mother's spirit as well as his brother and father encouragement (also partially out of his own will.) Upon realizing what he has done, he feels immense remorse for his actions and kills himself for all that he has done while also wanting to see his mother again.
- Indirectly helps save the universe by refusing to pull the Seventh Needle himself and encouraging Lucas to pull it thus allowing him to succeed.
Why Doesn’t He Stand Out?[]
- Due to being brainwashed throughout most of the game, he fails the admirable standard to Lucas and Ness, who both saved the universe with similar resources, as well as several other characters, including his father, who even defeated the Mecha Drago he tried to kill himself.
