Chiaki Nanami is a major character of the Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak Academy - Side: Despair anime. Her ultimate talent is Ultimate Gamer.
She was a student at Hope's Peak Academy and member of Class 77-B. She seems to have romantic sentiments for Hajime Hinata. Chiaki served as the beloved Class representative until she was killed by Junko Enoshima. As a result, her death drives all her classmates into the Ultimate Despair.
In the Killing School Semester, an AI version of her appears inside the simulation and works alongside her classmates to try to end the games.
She is voiced by Kana Hanazawa in the Japanese and by Christine Marie Cabanos in English.

- When Hajime recognized the game she was playing was Gala Omega, she was surprised that someone knew an old and classic game like Gala Omega, she then approached Hajime enthusiastically, saying that she never met anyone who played the game as much as her.
- She helps Hajime in investigating the murders and pointing clues out.
- Chiaki is the only one to try and help Reserve Course students like Hajime, not caring whether he had a talent or not.
- She disagreed with Hajime that justified talent is everything, stating that talent is not an end goal.
- She brought games for her classmates playing together inside their classroom.
- When Chisa Yukizome asked her to take the position as their class rep, she first didn't want to but after she heard her classmates' support, she agreed to take the position.
- She tries to unite the students in Hope's Peak Academy.
- When Hajime asked her if she had no talent for gaming and kept losing at her game, she answered that it'll be fun on its way since she adores games.
- She also stated that there's more in life rather than having only talent, like making memories with everyone else, which is an important matter to her.
- When her classmates aren't in better condition after what happened during the past few weeks, she was very worried.
- She was very sad knowing that Hajime didn't come again that day.
- After an incident caused by Nagito Komaeda which forced the principal to transfer Chisa to the Reserve Course, she promised to Chisa as the class representative to protect her classmates.
- When learning from Koichi Kizakura that Chisa would return to teach her class, she planned a big party in order to welcome her return.
- She alongside her classmates are worried about Mikan Tsumiki she she hasn't come to school when the riot came.
- She was the only person who actually cares about Nagito and thought of him as a friend.
- She was the only one in her class who greeted Nagito when he came back after being expelled for about a year.
- She alongside her class decided to search for Mikan who went missing.
- She tried to stop Nagito from killing Junko.
- When Nagito got shot by Izuru Kamukura, she rushed to check on him.
- She carries Nagito all the way to the classroom of the school building where the rest of the class are present for help.
- When Nagito tries to convince them because of the impending danger, she explains that Chisa has done a lot for everyone, even helping herself find friends in life.
- In her final moments, she apologizes for being unable to help Izuru and her classmates, saying that she loves them all while crying.
- She also told Izuru that she doesn't want to die, and that she wanted to stay with her class and play games with Hajime.
- Her final moment was to reach out to Izuru, saying that they could have played games together before she finally dies from her injuries.

- Despite having no corrupting qualities, she massively fails the high admirable standard to multiple other characters, including her AI counterpart.
