He is a tall, 8'2" six-year-old bird muppet who is the central character of the children's TV show Sesame Street. He is also the star and protagonist of the Warner Bros. film Sesame Street Presents: Follow That Bird.

Big Bird was originally performed by the late Caroll Spinney, who was also the original puppeteer of Oscar the Grouch. As of now, Big Bird is currently performed by Matt Vogel.

His Good Ranking[]

His Heroic Deeds[]

  • He's nice to just about everyone he meets and talks to.
  • For a children's show like Sesame Street, he teaches kids to be nice to others.
  • Cares deeply about his friends, especially Snuffy.
  • Despite sometimes being mean, he never means what he says, and apologizes to who's feelings he hurt.
  • Though he, and Oscar don't always get along. He's still nice to him, even when the latter isn't nice back.
  • Despite trying to act like Oscar so people would pay attention to him. He easily regretted doing so.
  • Even if he's known to be prone to misunderstandings. He still overcomes them by the end.
  • Is very helpful to his friends like Elmo, and Cookie Monster.
  • He helped Sahu and his cat move on to the afterlife, helping solve the demon's riddle and calling out Osiris for his unfairness.
  • In his own movie he had a reason to leave The Dodos because it wasn't where he belonged and didn't intend to have them heartbroken when they saw he left.
  • Called out The Sleaze Brothers that when they imprisoned him, it was birdnapping.
  • Went with the others to go get Elmo back from being transported to Grouchland in Oscar's secret tunnel.
  • Helped saved Elmo from the greedy selfish villain Huxley.

Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]

  • Sesame Street in general is just pure innocence for a children's show with most of the characters being nice to each other, which means he fails the admirable standards to be PG, NPG, and IA.
  • He can have some minor jerkish angry moments at times, but he usually never means them, which makes this a minor prevention.
  • He went along with Snuffy in teasing Cookie Monster when he was eating vegetable by saying "Bye bye! Veggie Monster, Ha! Ha!" while Cookie Monster is upset by being called a Veggie Monster because he eats vegetables which is ironic given Big Bird was upset when he pretend to be a grouch to get attention and got everyone upset with him. However, him and Snuffy were just joking and assured Cookie Monster that he was still their friend, and said that he could show them that he still loved eating cookies later, knocking it off after Cookie Monster ate a plate of cookies, making this a minor prevention.

Trivia[]

  • He's the first Sesame Street character to be HB.
