~ Alex after revealing he's alive. |
Alex Drake is a character from Power Rangers: Time Force. He was the red ranger in the year 3000 and fiancée of Jen Scotts until he was seemingly killed by Ransik. He ultimately came to 2001 alive and well and took back his ranger role from Wes Collins who was also an ancestor of his but relinquished his duties when he finally realized Wes was a better leader than him.
His Good Ranking[]
His Heroic Deeds[]
- Helped to arrest Fatcatfish before the show began.
- Captured Ransik in the year 3000.
- He's the reason Jen became the woman she is now. He believed in her and trained her into becoming a Time Force Ranger. From what was shown in the flashbacks, he seemed helpful and caring towards her, and they developed a strong bond.
- He does love Jen very much and while there were times he was hard on her, he only does it out of concern for her.
- Genuinely wanted to protect the timeline and had good intentions with his actions. While Alex initially had a belief that destiny shouldn't change, it was only because he was worried about how it can affect the future. Similarly, in the three-part finale, while Alex wanted to erase the other rangers' memories about the past, he only did it because of how complicated it is when people are in a time where they shouldn't be.
- Gave Wes his morpher back when he saw he was a better leader.
- Saved Wes' dad Mr. Collins from dying despite the fact the timeline said he was supposed to after he realized Wes was right that people make their own destiny.
- Apologizes to Trip, Lucas, Katie, and Jen for how he treated them to and tells them they are excellent rangers.
- Sends the strata cycle to Wes during a battle with a monster so he can use it to protect Jen.
- Ultimately allows the rangers to travel back in time to the year 2001 to save Wes, wishing them luck and advising them on how to deal with the situation. He also accepts Jen's decision to be with Wes. While he was sad that Jen eventually came to love Wes more than him (including the fact that Alex never got to marry her), he still chose to let her be with Wes.
- Unlike his Super Sentai counterpart (Captain Ryūya Asami), Alex actually means well and has more sympathetic reasons for his actions. He's also someone capable of acknowledging the error of his ways.
Why He Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- Unfortunately, after his traumatic near-death experience by Ransik, Alex did gain more corrupting qualities than who he once was and made too many cold and jerkish moments to be Near Pure Good, such as calling Circuit useless, treating Jen like he didn't even know her when he came to the past, berating the rangers when they were injured during a fight, and being kind of smug about erasing the rangers' memories.
- He is something of an anti-hero as he is willing to resort to questionable methods such as interfering with Circuit's memory circuits and overall show little empathy for anyone else.
- He fails the admirable standards to all of the other rangers who do much more over the course of the show to protect history.
