Adeleine

Adeleine is a recurring protagonist in the Kirby franchise, most notably serving as one of the three tritagonists of Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (alongside King Dedede and Waddle Dee) and a playable character in Kirby: Star Allies.

She is a kid with a penchant for art that lives on Planet Popstar with Kirby and his friends. While Adeleine's appearances in the games are sparse, she can prove a very valuable ally for Kirby when she does appear.

Her Heroic Deeds[]

While she does try to kill Kirby when she first appears, this is because she was possessed by Dark Matter at the time, and she instantly joins Kirby's side once she is freed.
She offers to help Kirby, Ribbon, Waddle Dee and later King Dedede in their quest to reclaim the crystal shards scattered across the galaxy.
She uses her magic painting skills to create food and 1-Ups for Kirby and his friends during their quest.
She gives hints to Kirby that allow him to find some of the crystal shards.
She helps Kirby save Ripple Star and the rest of the universe from being consumed by 0², getting rid of most, if not all the Dark Matter in the galaxy in the process.
She helps Kirby in defeating the universe-destroying god Void Termina and preventing Hyness from trying to summon a new threat, as well as redeeming him and the Three Mage-Sisters.

Why Doesn't She Stand Out?[]

She fails the Admirable Standard way too much to Bandana Waddle Dee, as most of her heroism boils down to assisting Kirby from the sidelines instead of directly joining him in collecting the crystal shards like Ribbon and Dedede. While she does take a more active role in Star Allies, she still mostly acts like the rest of the Dream Friends and doesn't really do anything unique. That said, her contributions still help Kirby defeat two of his most powerful and dangerous enemies, and most of the characters she isn't as admirable as had way more resources, so this is a minor prevention.
She has one faulty moment where she rudely jumps on Kirby's body so she can enter the portal to Ripple Star and fails to explicitly apologize to him. That said, this is the only time she did something remotely bad in the whole franchise, so this is an extremely minor prevention.

Trivia[]

Adeleine was once considered Near Pure Good due to having helped Kirby defeat some particularly heinous villains, but over time, she was reevaluated and was cut from the rank due to her actions being too generic by the series' standards since Kirby's other allies have done similar actions.
